Just caught up with this post - doom scrolling... a hard habit to break, indeed. Agree that The Perfect Couple was missing something, but I can't ell you what it was. No judgement about Emily in Paris! I'm waiting for Season 5 because every episode is a short escape into a European mini break - bliss!
My dad used to quote that spring ode as well. Thanks for the reminder. The mindless scroll, what can I say….the struggle is real and I hate it everyday. As they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. You’ll find me along that road. Sigh.
It's so hard to abstain from scrolling once you open a social media app on your phone, isn't it! I deleted the apps from my phone a while ago and only check in now and again on my desktop. I have found over time I check less and less, and I don't tend to scroll as much on the computer. The exception is Substack, which I kept on my phone because I like to read sitting on the couch rather than my desk.
Hello from Helsinki! Thank you for sharing my words. I loved reading your update, and that you’re taking control of your social media habits and that you chose creativity and writing in that moment instead. As always, there is so much I enjoyed about reading your update.
I need to curb my scrolling and read more books. Thank you for the reminder. It’s one thing to have that niggling away in the background and quite another to see it in print. Elizabeth Smart is now on the list.

I went to a Markus event on the weekend. Can’t wait to dive into Three Wild Dogs! I’ve just finished Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors and loved it. ❤️

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm not going to look for Elizabeth Smart!
Me too!
